BetCity new sponsor of Vitesse
Arnhemmer and former footballer Andy van der Meyde announces in video cooperation between soccer club Vitesse and online bookmaker BetCity.
This is an important commercial opportunity for both parties. Robert Kooiman, Marketing Director BetCity, says:

The cooperation
The betting company BetCity has committed itself to Vitesse for two and a half seasons as a non-exclusive betting partner. There is an option to sign on for another year and extend the cooperation.
The new partner BetCity will be seen on Vitesse's training clothing. In addition, there are special promotions for supporters of the soccer club, for example, an 'odds boost' if you bet on Vitesse. In addition, BetCity offers a weekly preview of matches of Vitesse, with facts and statistics.
BetCity on the Dutch market
BetCity is one of the first 10 online casinos that were allowed to enter the Dutch online casino market and showed how to play Dragon Tiger game. With the introduction of the new Distance Gaming Act, this online casino immediately received a license.

Soccer and gambling companies, a well-known combination
Soccer clubs and gambling companies have been working together for years, also on Dutch soil.
TOTO, part of the Dutch Lottery, works together with no less than 10 different soccer clubs. These are Feyenoord, PSV, Sparta Rotterdam, Willem II, FC Groningen, FC Utrecht, sc Heerenveen, ADO Den Haag, FC Twente and RKC Waalwijk. These are three-year agreements that started in 2020. A condition of the cooperation is sponsorship on the sleeve. For this reason, soccer clubs AZ and Ajax dropped out.
Although in many cases a collaboration falls within the strict Dutch laws and regulations, the Ksa keeps a close eye on advertising.
In December 2021, a licensee was ordered to stop advertising on the Premier League website. The licensee had had quotes placed during various soccer matches. If a visitor clicked on the advertising, he was directed to the licensee's website. There you could bet on the sporting event.
This is prohibited, as the law states that licensees may not advertise bets on the relevant match just before, during, or after matches.
Lucrative contracts between soccer clubs and gambling companies show that this is nevertheless a golden combination, despite the advertising restrictions and strict laws and regulations.
CasinoJager expects more collaborations between soccer clubs and sports companies in 2022. Major bookmakers such as Unibet and Betsson have applied for a license from the Dutch Gaming Authorities. If these bookmakers receive a license, there is a chance that they will also set their sights on Dutch soccer clubs.
Unibet works abroad with Aston Villa FC in the United Kingdom, Betsson is a partner of The Pernambuco Soccer Federation (FPF) in Brazil, among others.
