  • A fresh look at modern windows - plastic windows

  • Agree, it is impossible to imagine any building without a window. The main parameter by which translucent systems are classified, which are windows, is the material from which the window frame is made. It can be wood, aluminum, plastic or a combination of them.
Not so long ago, there was almost no alternative to wooden windows, but in recent years the situation has changed dramatically – plastic windows have appeared, gradually gaining unprecedented popularity. According to some estimates, since 2003, the demand for plastic windows has been increasing annually by an average of 30%.
And it is not surprising, because in terms of their economic and physical and technical characteristics, plastic window systems are no worse, and in many respects they surpass their wooden "brethren". Plastic windows are strong, durable and eco-friendly.
A big plus is that plastic belongs to hard–to-ignite materials: the ignition temperature is about 400oC, while wood has this indicator in the range of 250oC.
Depending on the manufacturer, design and other characteristics, the price of a PVC profile window system varies from $ 150 to $ 550. As for the prices of wooden windows, a lot depends on the type of wood from which the frame is made. For example, a high-quality window made of pine with double-glazed windows will cost about $ 500, the presence of more valuable species in the window design, such as oak, increases the price to $ 1000.
What determines the quality of the window
If the quality of a wooden window system mainly depends on the type of wood from which the window frame is made, then the characteristics of a plastic window are determined, first of all, by the formulation of the PVC profile.
It should be noted that each plastic manufacturer has its own original recipe for its manufacture: a special ratio of additives with different properties. There are technologies that make it possible to obtain materials with unique properties: even at very low temperatures, the plastic window does not crack and does not lose its quality.
    Aluminum windows
Despite the strength, increased corrosion resistance and fire resistance, aluminum windows are used in housing construction in rare cases. First of all, this is due to the high thermal conductivity of structures.
A room with an aluminum window can hardly be called warm. But aluminum windows are good for glazing large halls, for example, a winter garden, and are also suitable for arranging loggias and balconies.
Modern technologies in the production of windows are taking "leaps and bounds", filling our homes with a fresh wind of change. https://www.theprofs.co.uk/tmua-tutors
