EVENTUPDATE: Ted Leo (Chisel, Ted Leo & The Pharmacists) will be on hand to lead the Q&A with HR and director James Lathos. Ted Leo will dig deeper into the film and life of Paul "HR" Hudson.
Finding Joseph I is a documentary film chronicling the eccentric life of punk rock reggae singer, Paul "HR" Hudson from Bad Brains. The charismatic frontman's explosive live performances helped pioneer hardcore punk while delivering an enlightening message of positive mental attitude. HR's heavy devotion to the Rastafarian faith guided him in a spiritual direction leaving the band several times to explore his love for reggae music. Over the years HR’s increasingly unpredictable and abnormal behavior has many convinced that he his suffering from mental illness. Finding JosephI illustrates the true story behind the legendary lead singer's life, career and struggles with never before seen archival footage, photography and exclusive interviews.
The film features interviews with Paul "HR" Hudson, Earl Hudson (Bad Brains/Brother), Ras Michael (The Sons of Negus), Anthony Countey (Bad Brains Manager), Ian MacKaye (Minor Threat/Fugazi), members of Sublime, Deftones, Fishbone, Cro-Mags, Murphy’s Law, The Wailers and Living Colour.
Immediately following the screening, there will be a Q&A with HR and film director James Lathos, as well as a meet & greet in our theater lobby.
